Wes Darnell, 5080 FM 195 Paris, Texas., spoke in opposition of the petition. Mr. Darnell <br />states he has lived on his property for 26 years and the subject property is next door to his <br />property. He states lie is concerned about the sewer, utilities, traffic and property values <br />going down. Mr. Darnell states the lot is barely large enough for a single-family home <br />much less multiple -family homes. <br />Bentley Greb, 5290 FM 195 Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the Petition. Mr. Greb <br />states they are approximately 215-220 feet away from the subJect, property but they are <br />opposed to, multiple -family hornes. lie states they been there fifteen years. Mr. Greb states <br />he is a real estate agent and there a several beautiful lots for sale already zoned <br />multi -family or has the potential for multi-thillily. <br />Marybeth Burns, 7033 Heather Ln. Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the petition. Mrs. <br />Burns states that she and her husband's property backs up to the subject property and they <br />are opposed to any change that would allow multi -family housing. They purchased their <br />property 24 years ago so they could raise their children in a peaceful and quiet area where <br />they could roam the almost 3 acres. Mrs. Burns stated she is concerned with a lot of <br />pavernent, for parking, noise, traffic getting on and offof FM 195, crowding and crime with <br />lots of people coming and going. She states she does not know how a septic system would <br />work for the subJect property. Mrs. Burns further stated there are no other MUlti-fiarnily <br />homes in that area, She states she has a huge concern with loss of property value. <br />Sherri Maggi, 7250 Wendy Ln Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the petition. Ms. Maggi <br />states she has resided there for thirteen years. She further states she has a small daughter <br />and she is concerned about safety. Ms. Maggi states that most apartments require tenants to <br />sign a six-month or one-year lease. So you may or may not have the same neighbors. Ms. <br />Maggi Would like the board to vote against this petition. <br />Martha Hickman, 5 125 Amherst Ct. Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the petition. Ms. <br />Hickman states she purchased her property in 2002 from Mr. Donald Lewis after it became <br />a part of the City of Paris because they wanted the amenities they had at their previous <br />residence, She further states that in 2004 Mr. Lewis deeded any undeveloped land in their <br />subdivision to their horneowners association so in addition to paying taxes on her personal <br />lot, she also pays her fair share of taxes on the undeveloped land along with the other <br />property owners, Ms. Hickman states a duplex, triplex or quadraplex would have a <br />negative impact on their development. <br />Two individuals spoke in favor of the petition. <br />tach Michael, property owner ol'5040 Farni Road 195 and owner olAzact'I"herapy on NE <br />Loop 2,86, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr, Michael states he has two therapists that did <br />not conic to Paris because they Could not find housing. He had one therapist that came and <br />left because she was, put on a waiting list for months. Mr. Michaels states lie has a letter <br />from one of his therapists that was on waiting list for five months that drove 120 miles each <br />day for work. Mr. Michael states that therapist has moved into an apartment complex for <br />senior citizens and he is not a senior citizen. Mr. Michael asks that the board and citizens <br />
