Additionally, the petition requested a variance of Section 11.5-3 (b)(1)(c) of the Fence Ordinance <br />which provides as follows: <br />(b) Fence heights: <br />(1) Front yai-clfienee requirenients, <br />c. In residentially zoned areas, 110 fence over forty-two (42) inches in height above the <br />average grade of the yard shall be perinitted from the front building line to the street <br />right-of-way line. <br />The applicant is proposing to install a forty-eight (48) inch front yard fence. The applicant Is <br />asking for a six (6) inch variance in height. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />One individual spoke in favor of the petition, <br />Larry Giles, 451 SW 3" Street, Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr, <br />Giles stated that he wants to get a picket fence installed for the beautification of his <br />home and for security to keep people from walking across his yard. Mr. Giles states <br />that the picket fence panels he wants to purchase from Home Depot are forty-eight <br />(48) inches in height and he does not want to cut six (6) inches off Mr. Giles <br />presented the board with a picture of the proposed picket fence. <br />No one spoke in opposition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Jerry Haning, seconded by Deanna Manning to approve the <br />forty-eight (48) inch front yard picket fence. Motion carried 5-0. <br />4. Public hearing to consider of take action on the petition qfLesily Goodman vara Lot 38, <br />Block 70-B, being located at 420 NE 1bra' &reet. <br />The petition requested a variance of Section 9-501 (1) of the Zoning Ordinance which provides <br />that "A Two -Family District (2F) requires a ininirrium 25 foot front yard Setback line," The <br />applicant is seeking a 9 foot setback from the property line in order to construct a 12' x 21' cat -port. <br />The carport would be approximately 16 feet from the back of the curb. <br />Additionally, the petition requested a variance of Section 13-101(b) of the Zoning Ordinance <br />which provides that "There shall be a side yard not less than three (3) feet from any side lot line. <br />The applicant is seeking a I foot variance for the side yard. The proposed carport would be: <br />approximately 2 feet from the side lot line. <br />
