REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />1,07 EAST KAUFMAN <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />Present: <br />Chris Dux, Chainnan <br />Sarah Barbee <br />Linda Vandiver <br />Glee En-n-nite <br />Matt Coyle <br />Cheii Bedford, HPO <br />Call meeting to order at 4:0�2 p.m. by Chairman <br />Absent: <br />Randy Hider <br />David Alarid <br />Linda Knox, Council Liaison <br />Guests: <br />Richard Drake <br />Bobby Smallwood <br />Joe Matthews <br />Minutes of the February 14, 2018 were approved by acclamation. <br />The commission reviewed the following certificates of appropriateness. <br />a. 216 Clarksville ST, Trol.,fical Sno (stand) Paris, replacing existing structure with larger <br />structure -Joe Matthews <br />Mr. Miathews explained the stand services a lot QI'peopIc so they are proposing to <br />replace the existing structure with a structure that is larger and add another snow cone <br />machine. The structure will be longer and not wider, Mr. Matthews agreed to paint wt,ith <br />historic colors as before and will get with HPO on color selection when the building is <br />ready to be installed, Commissioner DtLv asked af the building is going to be a new <br />struct tire and or an addition to the existing one. Mr.r. itthei4,sexplained it)4,otildbea <br />newt,structure. He also explained that lastsummer he build temporary shade inftont of,. <br />the stand to protect those waiting in line to be served, and wanted to be able to keep it as it <br />has provided a level of comfort to those, waiting in line, and reduced the heat inside the <br />stand for the workers. Commissioner Vandiver had some concerns that the ice machine be <br />hidden inside, however, the machine cannot be inside a structure, Commissioner Barbee <br />made a motion to approve a new, large), structure and the tempormy shade, seconded bY <br />Commissioner IEmmite. Motion carried 5 - 0 <br />b. 211 Grand Ave, Removal qf'Paint.facade, rehabilitation garage door opening: <br />Bobby Smallwood and Richard Drake were present to answer questions. Mr. Drake <br />explained that he plans on making Grand Ave look a little better and he has been <br />,consulting with the Cheri Beqf6rd.for advice. Commissioner Dux asked,16), clarification <br />about the avisting brick and stucco infill, and if it is original to the building -Mr. Drake said <br />it was not original, and there were cement blocks behind the door opening.
