The applicant is proposing to construct a home on a forty-five (45) foot wide lot. The applicant is <br />requesting a fifteen (l 5) foot variance in width. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />Three individuals spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Kenneth Adams, 595 NE I" St, Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. <br />Adams stated that there are other lots located next to him and further along the <br />street that are the same dimensions and have small homes on them. Also, that there <br />was previously a home on the property. Although lie does not currently have plans <br />for the proposed home. lie intends to follow the general guidelines of other existing <br />hornes on the street. <br />Carla Easton, City Engineer, presented the variance request to the board during the <br />public hearing, Mrs. Easton stated that there are other lots of the same dimensions <br />that have homes on them and that the city would not be opposed to the construction <br />of horne on that lot. <br />Lynn flood, 1.777 W Houston, Paris, Texas, spoke in flavor of the petition. Mr. <br />Flood followed suit in agreeing with similar lots having homes on them, but also <br />mentioned that having a home on the lot Would be better for the city and generate <br />some income versus, being empty and requiring a lot of maintenance. <br />No one spoke in opposition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Jerry Harting, seconded by Chris Fitzgerald to approve both the <br />seventy-five (75) square foot area and fifteen (15) foot width variances.
