KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />THURSDAY, APRIL 19 201.8 <br />5:30 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Air jr ort Advisory Boar,d meeling was called to order bj) Chairman Tim Allarks at 5:30 <br />Via. in, <br />The following members were present: Tim Bullock, Anna Spencer, Tim Marks, Jimmy <br />Noble, Daniel Roach and Matt Birch. The following members were absent: Ray Ball, <br />Also present: John Godwin, City Manager; Jerry Richey, Airport Manager; Lance <br />Nicholson, Engineer Technician; Triniti Frazier, Community Development Coordinator; <br />Michael Paris, PEDC Director and Paula Portugal, City Council Liaison. <br />2. Aj)proval oftninulesftoin the meeting (,)f'Allarch 15, 2018, <br />A motion to approve the minutes was made by Jimmy Noble and seconded by Tim <br />Marks. Motion carried 6-0. <br />3, Discussion regarding delinquent hangar rentals. <br />Triniti Frazier, City staff reported there are no delinquent hangar rentals at this time. <br />4. Discussion regarding develolnnent 0121,)ortunities. <br />Michael Paris. Executive Director for the Paris Economic Development Corporation <br />states a prospect came into town about a month and a half ago.. This prospect flew in the <br />India Airforce and is now representing a large equity group out of India looking at <br />establishing a flight school out of Cox Field. They want to train local Pilots here and out <br />of India as well. They went out to the airport and met with Jerry Richey. Mr. Paris states <br />lie entertained commuter traffic that would be competing with Tyler, Longview and <br />Texarkana- Mr. Paris states American Airlines said because of the shortage of pilots it's <br />just harder to go into a smaller area like Paris. They talked about the capacity that Cox <br />field has and type of aircraft that could be useful for small commuter traffic. The equity <br />group wanted to access the demand in this area via survey and they are looking for at <br />least one thousand responses. Mr. Paris further states he had the prospect meet with Dr. <br />
