Discuss and authorize the City Manager to execute a contract for professional services <br />with Toole Desilpi Group to develop, the Downtown Visioning Plan for an amount not to <br />exceed $90,005.00. <br />In February, City Engineer Carla Easton said the Main Street Board hosted a meeting <br />with downtown business and property owners in order to provide a status update for <br />improvements in downtown. Ms. Easton also said they received feedback from. stakeholders for <br />prioritizing future initiatives. Ms. Easton reported stakeholders recommended to the City <br />Manager the City pursue the help of a planning professional, experienced with the revitalization <br />of downtowns in Texas. In response to the recommendation, Ms. Easton said staff contacted Ian <br />Lockwood with the Toole Design Group, as they were directly involved with revitalization <br />projects in Sulphur Springs and Commerce. Ms. Easton said that Toole Design's proposed fee <br />for services was $90.005 and in an effort to support this project, a group of stakeholders had <br />raised over $80,000 in donations to cover expenses associated with this effort, Ms. Easton said if <br />approved, the City of Paris would be committing $10,000. Ms. Easton answered questions from <br />City Council. <br />A Motion to authorize the City Manager to execute a contract for professional services <br />with Toole Design Group to develop a Downtown Visioning Plan for an amount not to exceed <br />$90,005.00 was made by Mayor Clifford and seconded by Council Member Knox. Motion <br />carried, 7 ayes -- 0 nays. <br />18. Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to <br />Resolution No. 2004-081. <br />No future events were referenced. <br />19. Adjournment, <br />There being no further business, a Motion to adjourn was made by Mayor Clifford and <br />was seconded by Council Member Trenado. Motion carried, 7 ayes — 0 nays.
