<br />FAMILY HAVEN CRISIS AND RESOURCE CENTER, INC. <br /> <br />JOB DESCRIPTION: VOLUNTEER CLIENT ADVOCATE <br />OBJECTIVE: <br /> <br />Responsible to the VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR, the Client Advocate is <br />responsible for the operation of client advocacy services offered <br />by the Family Haven Crisis and Resource Center, Inc. <br /> <br />ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: <br /> <br />1. Acts in accordance with Family Haven policies and procedures. <br />Maintains confidentiality. Reflects professionalism when <br />representing Family Haven in the community. <br /> <br />2. Conducts individual counseling with shelter residents and non- <br />residents, including crisis intervention, goal setting and <br />referral to other social service agencies and the criminal <br />justice system, as needed. These services include individual, <br />and telephone counseling sessions, as well as providing <br />assistance in obtaining Victims Compensation. <br /> <br />3. Conducts or arranges for counseling of other family members as <br />requested. <br /> <br />4. Completes and maintains all required forms and case notes <br />relating to Family Haven clients. (Files must remain Family <br />Eaven property.) <br /> <br />5. Arranges for or provides transportation for clients. <br /> <br />6. Assists with public education and public relation efforts of <br />Family Eaven. <br /> <br />Rev. 09/13/89 <br />
