S. Discussion regarding delinquent hangar rentals.
Triniti Frazier, City staff reported the following delinquent hangar rentals that are 60-90
days past due are Jimmy Smyers $1,037.00, Gifford Russell $67.00.
Ray Ball requested delinquent notice be mailed to them.
6. Discussion regarding development opportunities.
Nathan Bell advised he is a member of the Air Support Network and through this
network the City could get support in legislative items and federal items if they affect the
airport directly. Mr. Bell read an email aloud announcing congress has made available an
extra one billion dollars for airport projects. He further states what sets the $1 billion
apart from the rest of the federal money available is three big differences which are no
local match is necessary, so instead of the community contributing 5% or 10% of the
project cost, a project that uses this money will cost the community nothing. Secondly,
rural airports get priority consideration, even if your airport is not on the list, the FAA
may decide to award money to your airport. Third, this money is only available until
September 2020. Mr. Bell further reads if your airport is interested in being considered
for a grant under this provision, your airport must notify the local FAA Airport District
Office or Regional Airports Office. There are two deadlines to consider: To receive a
grant before October 2018, your airport must notify the FAA by August 8, 2018. To
receive a grant between October 2018 and September 2020, your airport must notify the
FAA by October 31, 2018. Please note that your airport must meet certain project
requirements in order to qualify. Mr. Bell states he has given a list to Triniti Frazier and
will email this info to Jerry Richey as well.
Ray Ball states we have a good airport plan in place and we need to figure out what we
would want to ask for first of our 5 -year plan. Jerry Richey states infrastructure is needed
to get to the hangars. Mr. Ball further states if there is going to be a meeting to discuss
this he would like to be involved.
Ray Ball states we can look into it quickly. The board will get a copy of the documents
and website that Mr. Bell has supplied. Lance will get in contact with Air Support
Network to see if we can qualify in some shape or form.
7. Discussion regarding the new hangar construction project.
Lance advised that he and Jerry shot the points last week, filled out the forms and
submitted it to the FAA for the Colin Marino hanger in order to get clearance.
David Taylor asked how many acres in this current hangar complex remain to be utilized
for additional hangars; it looks like it starts at the terminal and goes all the way back to
the road. Lance Nicholson advised we have 1500 acres (inaudible discussion). Mr.
