<br />RESOLUTION NO. Qfi-n~4 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore in Resolution No. <br />88-044 authorize a 15 % penalty to be added to the delinquent tax accounts in accordance <br />with Section 33.07 of the Texas Property Tax Code; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to add the 15 % penalty to tax accounts which are delinquent <br />on July 1 of a year, it is necessary for the governing body to direct that the same be added <br />thereto and that the governing body enter into contract with an attorney for the purpose of <br />collection of the delinquent tax accounts; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it to be in the best interest <br />of the citizens of Paris to engage Thomas E. Hunt, 111. as delinquent tax collection attorney <br />using the professional service contract in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that <br />the form of the Professional Service Contract for delinquent tax collection, by and between <br />the City of Paris and Thomas E. Hunt, 111, dated June 10, 1996, attached hereto as Exhibit <br />A, is hereby approved; and, <br /> <br />BE IT I<'URTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. <br />Clifford, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of <br />Paris, the Professional Service Contract for delinquent tax collection with Thomas E.
