MINUTES OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />August 13, 2018 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, <br />August 13, 2018, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor Pro -Tem: Derrick Hughes <br />Council Members: Renae Stone; Billy Trenado; Linda Knox; Clayton <br />Pilgrim; and Paula Portugal <br />City Staff: John Godwin, City Manager; Stephanie Harris, City <br />Attorney; Janice Ellis, City Clerk; Gene Anderson, <br />Finance Director; Bob Hundley, Police Chief; Larry <br />Wright, Fire Chief, Carla Easton, City Engineer; <br />Doug Harris, Utilities Director; Kent Klinkerman, <br />EMS Director; Jerry McDaniel, Public Works <br />Director; Alan Efrussy, Planning Director; and <br />Clyde Crews; Fire Marshal <br />Absent: Mayor: Steve Clifford <br />Opening Agenda <br />Call meeting to order. <br />Mayor Pro -Tem Hughes called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />2. Invocation. <br />Pastor Richard Bolt gave the invocation. <br />3. Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Pilgrim led the pledge. <br />4. Citizens' Forum. <br />Larry Schenk, 3765 Dawn — he said it had been eleven years since there had been a cost <br />of living adjustment for retirees and the cost analysis reflected that Paris was one of the few <br />cities who did not budget a COLA for their retirees. Mr. Schenk asked Council to consider <br />retirees during their budget process. <br />Michael Glatfelter — he said American Spiral Weld was costing the tax payers $51,000 <br />per job. He also referenced a lawsuit he filed against PEDC and the City for 2 million dollars. <br />
