MINUTES
REGULAR MEETING
AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD
COUNCIL CHAMBERS
107 E. KAUFMAN STREET
PARIS TEXAS
THURSDAY AUGUST 16 2018
5:30 O'CLOCK P.M.
1. The Airport Advisory Board meeting was called to order by Chairman Ray Ball at 5:30
p.m.
The following members were present: Anna Spencer, Nathan Bell, Ray Ball, David
Taylor, Jimmy Noble and Daniel Roach.
Also present: John Godwin, City Manager, Jerry Richey, Airport Manager; Lance
Nicholson, Engineer Technician; and Triniti Frazier, Community Development
Coordinator
2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting of July 19, 2018.
Motion was made by Nathan Bell and seconded by Daniel Roach. Motion carried 6-0.
3. Discussion regarding delinquent hangar rentals.
Triniti Frazier, City staff reported the following delinquent hangar rentals that are 90 -
days past due are Russell Gifford $67.00 and Cody Stephens $135.00.
Ray Ball requested delinquent notice be mailed to them.
4. Discussion regarding the new hangar construction project.
Lance Nicholson states that the FAA approved Colin Marino to build his proposed
hangar; however, the City will have to pay $36,000 for a taxi -way expansion to
accommodate the new hangar location. Mr. Godwin stated that he would propose an
Economic Development Agreement with Mr. Marino, in which he would pay the $36,000
up front to expand the taxi -way and then the City would pay him back with future
revenue (i.e. not have to pay rent for the first seven years, etc.) Mr. Taylor states that the
airport has 40 acres of land, and any future development should be built within the areas
that have already been platted and FAA approved instead of potentially cluttering the
taxi -way unnecessarily. Mr. Godwin stated that he would be recommending a decision
regarding this matter at next month's meeting.
Dr. Taylor excused himself from the meeting at 6:17p.m.
