The renovations will take <br />place on the north half of the building, historically named the Bywaters building. The <br />property owner is requesting a repair to awning in kind, uncovering and repair of original <br />transom windows, repair and replace dilapidated portions of the storefront in the traditional <br />storefront model, and an addition of two custom sliding large doors in the north facing wall. <br />The doors are to provide for access to the vacant property next door where a building burned <br />in the early 2000' , in hopes of future patio expansion. Roof will be repaired and the large <br />doghouse on top will be removed. A parapet cap will be secured on the top of the brick <br />dividing wall between the vacant area and the building. After a few questions about the <br />project, a motion was made by Commissioner Coyle and seconded by Commissioner Lazar to <br />approve the certificate of appropriateness as presented. Motion carried. <br />Commissioner Emmite made the motion to approve the item A. 534 NW 5th and item B. 346 <br />NW 3rd be sent to Building and Standards Commission with no opposition, as they hold no <br />historic value to the community, and cannot be rehabilitated or designated on the National <br />Register of Historic Places or a Recorded Texas Landmark or a Local Historic Landmark. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Lazar, motion carried. <br />Item 6 was moved up on the agenda. Commissioner Coyle presented the clarifications of the <br />fence guidelines as developed by the subcommittee. After brief discussion a motion was made <br />to approve the new guidelines and ask the council to adopt the new amendment by <br />Commissioner Lazar, seconded by Commissioner Emmite, motion carried <br />
