Glee Emmite called the meeting to order at 4:35 PM in the Paris City Council Chambers. <br />2. January minutes — Minutes were emailed earlier to all board members and were available on the monitors for <br />viewing. A motion to approve the January 8, 2019 minutes was made by Laurie Redus, second by Jane Helberg, <br />motion carried. <br />3. Committee Discussions <br />• Economic Vitality — Kevin Ashmore had no new updates to report. Hopefully, his committee can meet in the <br />next couple of weeks. <br />• Promotions — John Brazile was not present to report. Cheri Bedford will include promotions information in the <br />Main Street coordinator report. <br />• Organization — Laurie Redus will meet with Cheri Bedford in the next couple of weeks to create an event on <br />SignUpGenius to enlist volunteers for Wine Fest, April 13, 2019. <br />• Design — Glee Emmite, HPC Liaison, reported that they would like to create an organization for the residents <br />living downtown in the historic district and include a "meet and greet" for them. HPC would like to print an <br />informational brochure for perspective residents and/or individuals interested in purchasing property in the historic <br />district. <br />• PDA — Glee Emmite reported that PDA will meet the following day in the council chambers to discuss ideas and <br />ways to support the mini golf challenge in downtown the weekend of March 15-16. <br />• Chamber and V&CC — Becky Semple reported that Nancy Anderson is looking for a large, enclosed and air <br />conditioned building/arena for a dog show. The 4 day show would be profitable for Paris. • NE Texas Visitors <br />Guide is now available with Paris being listed in several places. <br />4. Main Street Managers Report — Cheri Bedford reported the following. <br />• Daryl Felsberg was pleased with the numbers from the Comedy Festival and plans to continue next year. <br />Comedians and patrons were pleased. <br />• Promotions committee has planned the Mini Golf Challenge downtown 5-8 PM, March 13'` and 11AM-5 PM, <br />March 16th . Eighteen businesses will set up greens. The $5 ticket is valid for the entire weekend with $1 of each <br />ticket price donated to the Downtown Food Pantry. Restaurants are planning food/drink specials as well. <br />• Wine Fest is planned for April 13'b . All of the locations and wines have been secured with 9 food vendors already <br />booked. The event is on FaceBook, and tickets are available online only at pariswinefest.com. <br />• The City of Paris applied and received a $250,000 grant from Texas Capital Fund for improvements on Main <br />Street between the Plaza and past the courthouse. The City matches the grant with $75,000. The work coordinates <br />with the plans of the Toole Design Firm adopted by the city. <br />• Planting trees is a part of revitalization of downtown. A plan was presented and approved by the city council to <br />plant 32 trees, and all have been sold except 4 trees. Cheri Bedford presented an overview of the interactive maps <br />
