Bolton believes the area is attractive for young families interested in <br />sending their kids to the Chisum school district while having city water and sewer. <br />Ivory Baldwin, 325 York, has owned property 30 years and his biggest concern is safety. <br />If the traffic is increased with multiple families, it could become more dangerous. He is <br />opposed to this petition. <br />Sharon Houchins, 2520 SE Yd Street, states she is not here to speak for or against this <br />petition but she wants to express her concern about the dangerous intersection where there <br />has been a lot of accidents and deaths. <br />Godwin states that TXDOT has made some improvements out there and they have hired a <br />consultant to make improvements to Loop 286, which includes this intersection. TXDOT <br />has an upcoming public meeting at Paris Junior College. <br />Flowers encourages concerned citizens to attend that meeting and voice concerns with <br />TXDOT. <br />Public hearing declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Chad Lindsey, seconded by Keith Flowers to deny the petition for a <br />Multiple -Family Dwelling District (MF -2). Motion carried 6-0. <br />5. Public hearing to consider and take action regarding the petition of the City of Paris, <br />Texas to update Zoning Ordinance No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Texas, specifically <br />establishing regulations for mobile food units and food truck parks/courts. <br />Easton states that mobile food trucks have increased in popularity in our city and Paris <br />currently does not have any regulations as far as the appropriate land use or distances <br />from residential areas etc. Many communities have adopted ordinances that set <br />expectations and provide protections for patrons of these food establishments as well as <br />neighboring properties and brick and mortar restaurants. Easton reviewed and discussed <br />the provided draft ordinance with the commission. <br />Mihir Pankaj asked who would be held liable for any accidents where the food truck is <br />set up. <br />Hundley states he sees there being a problem with property owners providing restroom <br />accommodations for food trucks set up on their lot. <br />
