MINUTES <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS; TEXAS <br />MONDAY, JUNE 33 2019 <br />5.30 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order at 5:30 p. m. by <br />Keith Flowers, Chairman. <br />All members were present. <br />Also present were staff members John Godwin, Carla Easton, Triniti Frazier, Clyde <br />Crews, city council liaisons Dr. Steve Clifford, Billy Trenado and concerned citizens. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (May 6, 2019) <br />Motion was made by Sims Norment, seconded by John Lee to approve minutes for the May <br />6, 2019 meeting. Motion carried 7-0. <br />Motion was made by James O'Bryan to move item 6 to the last item on tonight's agenda <br />to allow more time for discussion, seconded by Mihir Pankaj. Motion carried 7-0. <br />3. Public hearing to consider and take action regarding the petition of Lisa Short for a <br />change in zoning from a Two -Family Dwelling District (2F) to Neighborhood Service <br />(NS), in the Mayer Addition, Block 4, Lot 23, located at 3206 Bonham Street. <br />Godwin states what has happened before does not affect this case in a legal sense. The <br />comprehensive plan has broad zoning categories. For example, the zoning language in the <br />comprehensive plan shows Retail, which is not the same as General Retail. It does include <br />General Retail as well as Commercial, Neighborhood Services, Parking and other uses. <br />This agenda item is consistent with the comprehensive plan, therefore, staff recommends <br />approval of this request. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />Sherry Pritchett, 99 NW 32"d Street, spoke in favor of the petition stating this would not <br />affect the quality of life in this neighborhood nor would there be any interference with <br />
