MINUTES <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY AUGUST 5 2019 <br />5:30 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by <br />Keith Flowers, Chairman. <br />All members were present. <br />Also present were staff members John Godwin, Carla Easton, Triniti Frazier, Stephanie <br />Harris, city council liaisons Dr. Steve Clifford and concerned citizens. <br />2. Election of Officers: <br />a. Chairman <br />b. Vice -Chairman <br />Keith Flowers opened the floor for nominations for Chairman. <br />Motion was made by Chad Lindsey, seconded by Sims Norment to re-elect Keith Flowers <br />as Chairman. Motion carried 7-0. <br />Keith Flowers opened the floor for nominations for Vice -Chairman. <br />Motion was made by Sims Norment; seconded by Rick Hundley to re-elect Chad Lindsey <br />as Vice -Chairman. Motion carried 7-0. <br />3. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (July 1, 2019) <br />Motion was made by Sims Norment, seconded by Keith Flowers to approve minutes for <br />the July 1, 2019 meeting. Motion carried 7-0. <br />4. Public hearing to consider and take action regarding the petition of Kenneth Dority on <br />behalf of David and Eddy Thomas for a change in zoning from a Two -Family Dwelling <br />District (2F) to a Four -Family Dwelling District (4F), in the City of Paris, Block 227-C, <br />Lot 3, located at 659 NE 20th Street. <br />Godwin states the purpose of this request is to allow the potential owner to build a triplex <br />which is one additional unit to what is already allowed there by right.
