Carla Easton states Sami Ebrahim owns a 1.376 acres located at 2735 S Church Street,
formerly operating as Anthony Signs. The owner is proposing to develop the lot into a
convenience store with a Taco Casa drive through restaurant. This would be a significant
remodel. The water main serving the lot is of a substandard size and cannot support the
development needs. The owner will extend an 8" water main through the lot as part of the
required improvements. Staff recommends approval with the guarantee of construction
for the water line that is required.
Motion was made by Chad Lindsey, seconded by Keith Flowers to approve the petition
with the guarantee of construction. Motion carried 7-0.
6. Discuss commission procedures.
Chad Lindsey asked whether the commission wanted to continue with electronic packets
or go back to paper packets. After discussion, the commission agreed to continue with
electronic packets.
Chad Lindsey asked about public hearing procedures regarding if there was anything they
could do like the city council citizens forum. Godwin advised the commission can adopt
rules and procedures of how you conduct business. Commissioners discussed and agreed
for staff to draft some meeting rules they can look at on next months agenda.
7.
