<br />SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Scope of Work: <br /> <br />The contractor shall supply all labor and materials necessary <br />for applying a 1 1/2" hot mix type D compacted on two (2) <br />tennis courts at Travis Junior High School, The contractor <br />shall visit the site and meet with Parks Director to make sure <br />he understands the conditions, <br /> <br />Preparation for Overlay: <br /> <br />Before any paving is commenced, all court surfaces shall be <br />lightly hammered to remove all existing concrete topping that <br />has loosened from the slab but still in place, <br /> <br />After all such material has been hammered loose, remove all <br />loose material and broom clean the slab, <br /> <br />TACK COAT: Once the surface has been hammered and all debris <br />has been removed, a tack coat of asphalt shall be applied, <br /> <br />Asphalt shall be MC-I applied at a rate of 0.20 to 0.25 <br />gallons per square yard, covered with a thin layer of sand, <br />and rolled with a pneumatic roller, At the end of the tack <br />coat curing period the top surface should be applied, <br /> <br />HOT MIX ASPHALT SURFACE: When tack coat is approved by <br />Architect, install top surface in accordance with Highway <br />Specification Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete Pavement, Type D, <br />The material shall be 1 1/2" thick compacted applied with an <br />asphalt spreader, Barber-Greene, or equal. <br /> <br />APPLICATION: Application shall be made to attain final slope <br />sufficient for surface drainage. The surface shall be rolled <br />free of roller marks, ridges, and voids shall be repaired, <br />
