RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE MOTOR <br />VEHICLE CRIME PREVENTION AUTHORITY TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL <br />SUPPORT FOR ECONOMIC AUTHOMOBILE THEFT ENFORCEMENT <br />TEAMS AND TO COMBAT MOTOR VEHICLE BURGLARY; AUTHORIZING <br />THE EXECUTION OF ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR <br />ACCEPTANCE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SAID GRANT UPON NOTICE <br />THEREOF; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO <br />THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 1006 <br />and Texas Administrative Code Title 43; Part 3; Chapter 57, entities are eligible to receive <br />grants from the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority to provide financial support to <br />law enforcement agencies for economic automobile theft enforcement teams and to combat <br />motor vehicle burglary in the jurisdiction; and <br />WHEREAS, this grant program will assist this jurisdiction to combat motor vehicle <br />burglary and theft; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the <br />grant funds, City of Paris assures that the grant funds will be returned in full to the Motor <br />Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS, THAT: <br />Section 1. The findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br />Section 2. The City Manager of the City of Paris, Texas is designated as the <br />Authorized Official to apply for, accept, decline, modify, or cancel the grant application for <br />the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority Grant Program and to execute all necessary <br />documents to accept said grant. <br />Section 3. The Interim Police Chief Randy Tuttle, is designated as the Program <br />Director and Gene Anderson, Finance Director, is designated as the Financial Officer for this <br />grant. <br />Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of <br />passage. <br />
