MINUTES OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />July 27, 2020 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, <br />July 27, 2020, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufinan, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor: Steve Clifford <br />Council Members: Paula Portugal; Renae Stone; Derrick Hughes; <br />Linda Knox; and Clayton Pilgrim <br />City Staff: Grayson Path, City Manager; Gene Anderson, <br />Finance Director; Janice Ellis, City Clerk; Doug <br />Harris, Public Utilities Director; Carla Easton, City <br />Engineer; and Clyde Crews, Fire Marshal <br />Opening Agenda <br />1. Call meeting to order. <br />Mayor Clifford called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />2. Invocation. <br />Finance Director Gene Anderson gave the invocation. <br />3. Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Portugal led the pledge. <br />4. Citizens' forum. <br />Ruth Ann Alsobrook, 208 5th S.W. — she said three years ago she served as chair of the <br />Lake Crook Park Committee and that she was concerned the park had been forgotten. She asked <br />if trees could get planted where the other ones had died. <br />Christine Gray, 2895 Walnut Street — thanked the City Council for listening to citizens in <br />supporting Pastor Gary Savage for Council. She also encouraged the formation of a Police <br />Oversight Committee. <br />Latrell Lacey, District 3 — thanked City Council for no longer approving Beshirs <br />Construction, supported Gary Savage for City Council, and said she was an advocate for a Police <br />Oversight Committee. <br />
