RESOLUTION NO. 90-100 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris continues to be aware of the necessity of maintaining and improving its Municipal Airport, Cox Field in order to serve the needs of the citizens of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris intends to request financial assistance from the Texas Department of Aviation for these improvements in the form of perimeter fencing, drainage work, helipad construction, asphalt overlay on parking lot and entrance road and taxiway extensions to runways 17 and 35; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris intends to name the Texas Department of Aviation as its agent for the purposes of receiving and disbursing all funds for these improvements and for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of these improvements; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, 1. That the City of Paris process an application for funds for perimeter fencing, drainage work, helipad construction, asphalt overlay on parking lot and entrance road and taxiway extensions to runways 17 and 35 at Cox Field Airport, Paris, Texas, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations of this governing body, all applications, contracts, agreements and loan agreements with the State of Texas, represented by the Texas Department of Aviation, and such other parties as shall be necessary and appropriate for the implementation of the improvements to the Cox Field Airport. 2 . That Joe McCollum, Development, Director. Director of Community be, and he is hereby appointed Project 3. That the Texas Department of Aviation of the State of Texas, be, and it is hereby appointed agent for the purposes of receiving and disbursing all funds for said project. 4. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Paris the letter of intent to pursue financial assistance, necessary applications, communications, instruments and documents necessary for the completion of said project. 5. That the letter of intent heretofore transmitted, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit "A", is hereby in all things ratified.
