Conduct a public hearing, discuss and act on ORDINANCE NO. 2020-031: AN <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AS HERETOFORE AMENDED, SO AS TO REZONE CITY OF PARIS BLOCK 101, <br />LOTS 6A AND 7 LOCATED AT 940 W. CAMPBELL, IN THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM A LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT (LI) TO A <br />SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); DIRECTING A CHANGE <br />ACCORDINGLY IN THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY; PROVIDING A <br />REPEALER CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, A SAVINGS CLAUSE, A <br />PENALTY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />City Engineer Carla Easton said Joel Scott was requesting a change in zoning in order to <br />build a home on the subject lot. She said the change would create an odd residential lot that <br />would be surrounded by commercial and industrial zoned properties; therefore, the City should <br />consider initiating a zoning change to bring the entire area into compliance with the <br />comprehensive plan. Ms. Easton also said the Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously <br />approved this zoning change and that staff recommended the zoning change. <br />
