Regular Council Meeting <br />August 24, 2020 <br />Page 6 <br />in the department head roles. Mr. Path explained this was pursuant to Texas Local Governmea <br />Code 143.013(a)(1). He said Interim Fire Chief Thomas McMonigle had served in the role -M <br />Interim Fire Chief since October 2019 and Randy Tuttle had served in the role as Interim Chi <br />of Police since July 2020. Mr. Path said this was a housekeeping item and asked that Ci <br />Council confirm these interim appointments. I <br />A Motion to confirm Thomas McMonigle as Interim Fire Chief and Randy Tuttle as <br />Portugal. Motion carried, 6 ayes <br />22. Convene into Executive Session pursuant to Section 551.071 of the Texas Governmeni <br />Code, Consultation with Attomey, to receive legal advice from the City Attorney aboul <br />(1) pending or contemplated litigation and/or (2) on matters in which the duty of an <br />attorney to her client under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of th* <br />State Bar of Texas clearly conflict with this chapter, including but not limited to Building <br />and Standards Commission appeals. <br />23, Reconvene into Open Session and possibly take action on those matters discussed in <br />Executive Session. <br />Mayor Clifford reconvened City Council into open session at 6:08 p.m. and said Council <br />had received legal advice from the City Attorney. <br />24. Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to <br />Resolution No.2 4®8 1. <br />No future events were referenced. <br />25. Adjournment. <br />There being no further business, a Motion to adjourn was made by Mayor Clifford and <br />was seconded by Council Member Portugal. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays.
