Glee Emmite called the meeting to order at 4:32 PM, August 11, 2020, in the City Council chambers. <br />2. Citizens Forum - No one present to speak. <br />3. Presentation on the progress of the Paris Historic Resqurce Survey of the Commercial District — Steph <br />McDougal, Principal Consultant, McDoux Preservation, LLC., presented information on the project and the progress <br />to date. She explained that the Survey is a systematic method of documenting historic resources through fieldwork <br />and research. Each historic resource is documented with photographs, maps and a written description on a form. <br />The Survey is fundamental to historic preservation because it results in the identification of historic resources, helps <br />determine which of those resources should be preserved and can be essential in shaping local ordinances, guidelines <br />or downtown master plans to protect these resources. Previous surveys were in 1988, 2004 and photos only in 2017. <br />The 2020 Survey is scheduled to be completed by the end of September. <br />4. Glee Emmite welcomed and introduced Tyrone Hayden as a new member of the Main Street board followed by <br />an introduction of current board members. <br />5. Review and approve minutes — A motion to approve the July 2020 minutes was made by William Walker, second <br />by Kari Daniel, motion carried. <br />6. Board member activity reports - <br />- Tanner Dobrovolsky began working on volunteer signups for Wine Fest, but the event was cancelled due <br />to COVID-19. <br />• Kari Daniel — Nothing new to report on the plaza lighting project. Cheri is following up with the <br />appropriate people on previous up -light ideas. <br />• Glee Emmite and Emily Temple completed the task of updating the building inventory for a downtown <br />map and business brochure. <br />• William Walker shared additional information about Distrx.com, a free app that shows shopping, <br />entertainment, parking locations, local attractions, upcoming events and offers/promotions from local merchants. <br />The app is now active online with current information added. Businesses can now claim their space and add <br />information, sales, event, etc. Only special app -based "apptivities" require a fee to post. The app is a positive <br />addition to downtown allowing a national audience to view offerings in historic downtown Paris. <br />
