William Walker called the meeting to order at 4:35 PM, November 10, 2020, in the City Council chambers. <br />2. Citizens Forum - No one present to speak. <br />3. Review and approve minutes — A motion to approve the September 2020 minutes was made by Kari Daniel, <br />second by Glee Emmite, motion carried. <br />4. Board member activity reports - <br />- Emily Temple and Kari Daniel — 1) The plans for the 2020 Christmas parade (with COVID-19 guidelines <br />considered) were discussed with Randy Tuttle (Paris PD) and Edwayne Samis (City of Paris). The current plan is to <br />have the parade entries stationed around the parade route with the public driving past the parked floats/cars. <br />Firetrucks will monitor intersections. Suggested judges are Tanner Dobrovolsky, Kim Dillard and Lena Spencer. <br />The parade is scheduled 6-8 PM, Saturday, December 51. 2) The modified Trick or Treat was successful this year. <br />Cars constantly moved through downtown. <br />• Glee Emmite — PDA will meet at 8:15 AM, November 111. Spanglers will not be having their traditional <br />Open House this year due to COVID. Letters to Santa can be dropped off near Bee Sweet this year. Paris Baby will <br />be having Santa photo sessions strictly by appointment only. The downtown merchant window decorating contest <br />will be held this year. Pictures of decorated windows and voting will be on FaceBook. <br />• William Walker — Will reported that he completed the Destination Business course and that it was very <br />enlightening with great ideas. <br />5. Updates from Community Partners - <br />- Becky Semple, Tourism Director from the Chamber of Commerce & VCC — The following events were <br />presented. 1) An indoor archery event will be held in January at NLISD based on the NL COVID guidelines. 2) <br />The Chamber is sponsoring a contest for a weekend getaway in Paris as a tourism promotion. It will include 2 <br />nights in a hotel with food, drinks, shopping vouchers, etc. for two lucky people. 3) The archery group will be back <br />in Paris in April. 4) The Tour de Paris will be in July 2021. <br />• Glee Emmite — HPC did not have a meeting last month. <br />6. Coordinator's Report — Cheri Bedford discussed the following. 1) Festival of Pumpkins was a great event with <br />good attendance. The 147 volunteers were treated to an ice cream cone coupon from Dairy Queen. 2) The recent <br />Resource Survey of buildings was received. Several buildings were added to the contributing category with a few <br />deleted. The overall number of contributing buildings remained about the same. The survey will be digitized for <br />online viewing. 3) Application has been made to the Texas Historical Commission to conduct a survey on the Pine <br />
