SUPPLEMENTAL GENERAL CONDITIONS <br />Yrs i <br />The terms used in these Supplementary Conditions that are defined in the Standard General <br />Conditions of the Construction Contract have the meaning assigned to them in the General <br />Conditions, except for the terms "General Requirements." The term "General Requirements" is not <br />applicable to this Contract, and items referenced as appearing in that section will be located in the <br />Technical Specifications or these Supplemental General Conditions. <br />The term "Substantial Completion" is further defined as follows: <br />Substantial Comoletion - Additional Clarification <br />The project shall not be considered Substantially Complete until the following minimum conditions <br />have been met: <br />1) All major individual items of construction must be sufficiently complete in accordance with the <br />Contract Documents so that the individual item of construction can be utilized for the <br />purposes for which it is intended. <br />2) Required tests, such as air, hydrostatic pressure, water tightness, compaction, and others, <br />including trial operating tests, as outlined in the Technical Specifications must be successfully <br />completed. Any items that fail any of the tests must be corrected and retested. <br />3) A preliminary final inspection must have been requested by the CONTRACTOR and, allowing <br />adequate time for the presence of all necessary parties, conducted by the ENGINEER. Such <br />prefinal inspection must show that 1 and 2 above have been accomplished. The punchlist <br />developed at the prefinal must not contain any major deficiencies. <br />As of the date that items 1 through 3 above have been completed, the ENGINEER shall issue the <br />Certificate of Substantial Completion, which shall act to initiate the guarantee period and to stop the <br />assessment of additional liquidated damages (if the agreed-upon time has expired) as of that date. <br />The Certificate shall provide a mutually agreed upon reasonable period of time for completion of the <br />punchlist items, and failure of the CONTRACTOR to complete the punchlist items within this period <br />shall be cause for the OWNER to reinstate the withholding of liquidated damages in the amount and <br />under the terms previously specified in the Contract. <br />Add the following definitions: <br />The word "Approved" means to give limited, or conditional, or qualified permission to use material, <br />equipment, or methods, the conditions being in strict compliance with contract document <br />requirements. <br />The words "Furnish", or "Install", or "Provide" mean to supply, make available, place and/or fix into <br />position. These words are used interchangeably. <br />The word "Inspection" means to make general, periodic visual observations of the material and <br />installation, but not detailed continuous, or specific analysis of the same.
