A motion was made by Sims Norment, seconded by Austin Anthony to approve the preliminary
plat with noted conditions. Motion carried 5-0.
8. Consideration of and action, on the Final Plat of Lots 1-12, Block 188 of the J. C Miles
Subdivision, LCAD Property ID 17005, located at 1415 SE 6rh Street.
Mack states this is the same presentation for final plat with noted conditions.
A motion was made by Austin Anthony, seconded by Tylesha Ross to approve the final plat with
noted conditions. Motion carried 5-0.
9. Discuss formation of P&Z sub -committee to address Master Trails & Sidewalk Planning
Project.
Mack states this is a recommendation that this body appoint two commissioners to a sub-
committee to create a master plan as part of an update to the City Comprehensive Plan.
Mack is also requesting that city council appoint at least one council member as a liaison
to this committee. There will be development staff as well as Parks and Trails
involvement. The City is having continuous issues with effectively enforcing the
requirements based on ordinance amendments recently adopted by the city. There has
been a number of objectionable concerns due to different factors. The current ordinance
does not allow for discretion so this needs to be re -visited for some flexibility. This is not
a building code issue but rather a city enhancement. The value of sidewalks are not to be
under stated in the community and the need for them. There just needs to be more of an
integrated plan, something that we can review against to afford some flexibility where
some instances may not make sense. The city can work through administrative standards
to allow for exceptions. A resolution will be brought to City Council.
A motion to appoint Commissioners Chad Lindsey and Francine Neeley to the P&Z sub-
committee was made by Clifton Fendley and seconded by Sims Norment.
10. Request items for future agendas.
No request at this time.
