Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 18, 2021 <br />Opening: <br />The meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order by Chairman Steve <br />Hellmann at 4:02 p.m. <br />Present: Board members present were: Steve Hellmann, Melanie Loughmiller, Eva Dickey, <br />Myers Hurt, Jennifer Cullum, Lauren Mathews, Melanie Loughmiller, Library Director Tim <br />DeGhelder, and City Council Liaison Linda Knox. Board Member DeEtte Cobb was absent. <br />Approval of Minutes: The minutes of the July 21, 2021 were approved with the <br />correction of the adjournment time. The adjournment time was missing from the <br />July 21, 2021 meeting notes and were added on August 18, 2021 as 4:57 p.m. The <br />motion to approve the minutes was made by Melanie Loughmiller and a second was <br />provided by Myers Hurt. <br />11. Citizens Forum: Nothing to report. <br />III. New Business: Chairman Steve Hellmann requested that Marilyn Threadgill be <br />recognized for her years of service to the Paris Public Library Advisory Board. <br />Jennifer Cullum made the motion to approve, with Melanie Loughmiller providing <br />the second. All board members present were in favor of the recognition. <br />IV. Old Business: Strategic Plan (October 2021) Tim met with staff for a 3rd meeting and <br />will put all of the information gained into one document for the board. Items that <br />will be included in the Strategic Plan will include the materials the library currently <br />has to offer and what the library plans to do with them. <br />a. Building: Tim will make a presentation for future building plans in October for <br />review, prior to submitting to City Manager Grayson Path. The plan will include <br />goals for Year One, Year Two, and Year Three. Tim wants the library to have <br />more accountability to the Library Advisory Board because he feels it will help to <br />keep the goals established on pace. <br />V.
