Expenditures in July totaled $69,763.59, with $555,352.57 expended so far for <br />the year, which is 76% of FY 2021 budget of $727,331.00 Tim noted that the new <br />budget begins October 1, 2021 and any remaining left over salary funds in the <br />budget will be utilized to purchase security cameras for the library. The goal is to <br />have additional security cameras for the parking lot and front door. The <br />technology will allow eligible staff to view the camera footage remotely from a <br />device. The camera footage will be held to privacy law standards, with only the <br />staff allowed to view, unless law enforcement is involved. <br />Tim submitted a salary survey to Grayson Path for review. Tim noted that <br />numerous staff members have worked for the library many years and he felt that <br />they deserved a pay raise. The budget for the increase in salary has been <br />submitted to the Paris City Council but has not yet been approved. Steve <br />Hellmann asked if the council was receptive to the increase in salary and Council <br />Liaison Linda Knox said yes. <br />b. Statistical Report. <br />There are currently 9,237 active library cards. Book rentals continue to increase, <br />especially in the Juvenile department. This was'the first month in which <br />volunteers returned to the library, with 20 volunteer hours for the month. Tim <br />noted that he would like to increase the number of volunteers. <br />During this time, Tim also noted that the library is responsible for helping the <br />public register to vote, under the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA). Myers asked if there is any way to <br />check and see if someone is already registered. Eva Dickey responded that yes, <br />there is a website to verify voter registration. Linda noted that the voter <br />registrations that patrons have may need to be updated. Steve added that this <br />process may be able to take place while a library card is being updated for <br />address changes or other miscellaneous information is changed. <br />c. PC Usage Policy. <br />Ron Hervey presented an updated version of the library's PC policy. Ron <br />collaborated with Tim to create new guidelines that would ensure that more <br />people have access to the library computers while also continuing to protect the <br />
