With no one else speaking the public hearing was declared closed. <br />A motion was made by Sims Norment, seconded by Tylesha Ross -Mosley to approve the <br />zoning change. Motion carried 6-0. <br />5. Public hearing to consider and take action regarding the petition of Judy Daughtrey for a <br />change in zoning from a One -Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a Two -Family <br />Dwelling District (2F) in the Willowcrest #2 Addition, Block A, Lot 7, located at 1315 NE <br />26th Street- LCAD 39756. <br />Mack states Judy Daughtrey requested a zoning change from SF -2 to 2F. The applicant <br />intends to construct a duplex. It will also provide for an expanded & contiguous 2F District <br />Boundary based upon the zoning and land uses developed along Kessler Dr. to the West. <br />The property is conforming in size with regard to dimensions and setbacks for a new duplex <br />construction can be met. Staff recommends approval of the rezoning from SF -2 to 2F. <br />The public hearing was'declared open. <br />Scott Hearne states he is opposed the zoning change as it is inconsistent with the single- <br />family homes of that area. He would like to see a single-family home there. <br />Leah Rodgers spoke in opposition for the same reasons as Hearne and also this end of NE <br />20h Street is single-family and the duplexes are further north. <br />With no one else speaking the public hearing was declared closed. <br />A motion was made by Sims Norment to approve the zoning change; with no second the motion <br />failed. A motion was made by Tylesha Ross -Mosley, seconded by Austin Anthony to deny the <br />zoning change. Motion carried 5-1 with Sims Norment in opposition. <br />6. Public hearing to consider and take action regarding the petition of the Paris Economic <br />Development Corp. for a change in zoning from an Agricultural District (A) to a Heavy <br />Industrial District (HI) in the City of Paris, Block 309, Lot 20 & PT of 21, located at SW <br />Loop 286- LCAD 18671 and 18672. <br />Mack states the Paris Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) requested a zoning <br />change from A to HI to accommodate industrial uses of all types.
