k. Strategic Plan Update: The following list consists of items that Tim wants to
quantify so that he can discover methods for accomplishing the goals on the list.
L Collection: digital versus paper. Tim wants a good ratio that represents
the needs and habits of patrons.
ii. Programs: Tim wants to ensure that all age groups are represented in the
library program offerings. His goal is to have opportunities for people to
come to the library and do these programs, providing more traffic inside
the library building.
iii. Partnerships: Tim is reaching out to the community businesses and non-
profits to see how the library can help serve the public.
iv. Outreach: Tim wants the library to be more active and visible in the
public, including going into the local daycares, senior homes, and
participating in Downtown events.
V. Programming Options Outline: There needs to be an accessible outline of
all programming available, including the take home programs (soft), as
well as the scheduled and digital programs.
vi. Webinars and Social Media Outreach: Tim wants the library to create a
social media presence on all applicable platforms that the citizens in the
Paris community use. Tim wants more reach into the community and an
online presence is necessary.
vii. Webpage: Tim is going to work with Justin to help reshape the Paris
Public Library webpage to be more user-friendly and accessible.
viii. Marketing: Tim is working on more marketing for the library, to help
reach the public.
ix. Digital Boards: A tv will be placed near the front of the library to help
promote anything that is happening in the community. Examples may
include library information, upcoming community events, tax help
information, blood drive, etc. Anything that helps to spread information
about the community.
X. Computer Programming: Tim noted that none of the computers in the
library have mics or cameras. He would like that updated so that users
can have access to Zoom meetings. He would like to have an Wad for
these options.
In closing, Tim noted that there is a lot of potential in Paris and that people love the library.
DeEtte Cobb stated that the changes have been positive and shows a good progression.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:37 p.m., with Melanie Loughmiller making the motion and
DeEtte Cobb providing the second.
The next meeting will be on March 16th, 2022.
Submitted by: Jennifer Cullum, Secretary
