HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES <br />107 E KAUFMAN ST, PARIS, TEXAS 75460 <br />WEDNESDAY, April 13, 2022 <br />Present <br />Absent <br />Chris Dux, Chair <br />Ryan Matthews <br />Linda Vandiver, Secretary <br />Jessica Holtman <br />Glee Emmite <br />Matthew Coyle <br />Laura Caffey, Vice Chair <br />Guests <br />Jennifer Long <br />Steven Johnson <br />Karol Lynn Moore <br />CodyKelley <br />Staff <br />Robert Spain <br />Cheri Bedford- HPO <br />Micah Bedford <br />Linda Knox, Council Liaison <br />Robert Vine, Assistant City Manager <br />Chairman Dux called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />There was no one who spoke at the Citizens Forum <br />The March 9, 2022 meeting minutes were approved by acclamation. <br />Karol Lyn Moore 131-135 Lamar: Ms. Moore will be remodeling her canopy and transom <br />windows. Canopy will be painted, and R -Panel siding will be removed from over the transom <br />windows to open up the windows for lighting. Ms. Moore was not sure about the condition of her <br />windows without looking at them, but feels that they are there based on what she can see. She will <br />come back to the commission if there are any issues with them, but for now her intention is to <br />reseal what is existing and paint them. A motion was made to approve the Certificate of <br />Appropriateness for painting and removal of the tin over the transom window, and evaluation of <br />the windows for minor repairs by Commissioner Caffey, seconded by Commissioner Emmite, <br />motion carried. <br />Ms. Moore requested a $2500 fagade grant for the repairs to be completed 131-135 Lamar Ave. <br />This project must start by June 13, 2022 and be completed by October 31, 2022 to request <br />reimbursement. A motion was made to approve the fagade grant of $2500 by Commissioner Coyle, <br />seconded by Commissioner Emmite. Motion carried. <br />Mr Kelley 508 Church. He presented his phase 2 for approval with photos. All existing windows <br />are being removed, scraped, re -glazed and put back into the frames. Motion was made to approve <br />the work by Commissioner Emmite, seconded by Commissioner Vandiver. Motion carried. <br />The estimated cost of the total window restoration was reviewed, and the project met the <br />requirements for a $1000 fagade grant. This project must be complete by October 31, 2022 to <br />request reimbursement. A motion was made to approve the fagade grant for $1,000 for the <br />rehabilitation of the existing windows in the property by Commissioner Coyle, seconded by <br />Commissioner Vandiver, motion carried. <br />
