Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (June 7, 2022)
Motion was made by Larry Walker, seconded by David Hamilton to approve minutes for the June
7, 2022 meeting. Motion carried 5-0.
3. Public hearing to consider and take action on the petition of Mark Pankaj, regarding a
17, 467.56SF ( 401 acre) variance to the City of Paris Building Regulations, Article 4.10
Signs, Section 4.10.005(1)(D) on Lot 1, Block A, of the Mihir Pankaj 318 Addition, being
located at 3143 NE Loop 286:
Andrew Mack, Director of Planning & Zoning, presented case to the board. Mr. Mack stated that
the sign will be placed by the construction trailer and the City recommendation is for approval
since it would be a safety issue for someone to try to slow down in the high traffic area to read a
smaller sign versus the larger sign.
Ms. Alsobrook declared the public hearing open.
Mr. Mack presented an input from the applicant, Mark Pankaj, that stated the sign will be large
enough to pass and look at safely by motorists and will bring excitement for development in the
city.
Staff member, Paige Unger, made note of input forms submitted as follows:
Tony Walters of 2505 Lamar Avenue, in favor.
Gail Parkhill of neighboring property to the north, Parcel 22310, neither in favor nor in
opposition, but would prefer a smaller sign.
