ARCHITECTURAi, SURVEY ACREiT1PNT <br />This Agreement is entered into by the Texas Historical Commission, Commission, a State <br />Agency, hereinafter referred to as the Cotmnissi.on, and _the_ City of Paris, _ <br />_Paris, Texas _ hereinafter referred to as the Contractor, <br />pursuant to a grant made to the Texas Historical. Commission for Fiscal Year 19 84, <br />by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National. Park Service, under the provisions <br />of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (P.L. 89 -665) for the purposes of <br />conducting a statewide inventory of cultural resources. <br />THE CONTRACTOR, in consideration of the hereinafter monetary sum to be paid <br />by the Commission agrees as follows: <br />Sec. 1. The Contractor shall undertake a survey of historical resources of <br />Paris Texas, in the following county(i.es) <br />Lamar pursuant: to, and in conformity with the <br />provisions of the letter of agreement from the Commission to the Contractor <br />dated April, 18, 1984 a copy of which letter is attached to this Agreement <br />as Attachment III and incorporated herein for all purposes, and in conformity with <br />the Project Proposal submitted.by the Contractor to the Commission August 29, 1984 <br />Sec. 2 It is agreed that the Contractor shall be an independent Contractor <br />for the purposes of this Agreement. The Contractor shall not be considered the <br />agent, the servant, or the employee of the Commission for any purpose wha L;oeyer. <br />The liabilities of any kind arising from the perf`onnanuu of the contracted wnrk <br />covered by this Agreement and all Appendices thereto are the reqponsibility of <br />the Contractor. <br />Sec. 3. In the performance of the survey and nomination as described in Attach- <br />ment III, the Contractor shall utilize the current forms in use by the Commission as <br />stipulated in Attachment 1, "National. Register Survey Guidelines," and shall follow <br />the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Identification, Evalua- <br />tion, and Registration (Attachment 1I). The Contractor may use a 4"x5" or 35mm for- <br />mat camera for the photographic documatation of each surveyed site. The completed, <br />legible survey forms, negatives, index sheets and two sets of contact sheets shall <br />become the property of the Commission upon completion of the contract. Attachment I, <br />Appendix A, illustrates the survey form and Appendix B illustrates the 35mm index <br />sheet, which shall be employed in fulfillment of said contract. The professional <br />hired by the Contractor shall proofread and initial all the typed survey forms. All <br />forms must be approved and certified as being complete by the Commission prior to the <br />fulfillment of the contractual obligations. The Contractor must also provide the lo- <br />cation of each recorded site, clearly delineated on CSGS 7.5' maps or other maps <br />deemed appropriate by the Commission. The Commission will provide the Contractor with <br />all necessary USGS base maps. Prior to the final payment, the Con tractor shall submit <br />to the Commission a report on the survey process as outlined in the Secretary of the. <br />Interior's Guidelines for Identification and N ❑tion:il Itep,ivtcr and uUicr hi Ln�ic <br />designation recommendations following Lhe Scaactiry of LW Interior's cuidel -fines for <br />Evaluation (Attachment II). The Contractor :hall also uhmi. to the Commission, a <br />National Register Multiple Resource Nomination, which follows the recom:meudaKons of <br />this final report and meets the Secretary of the Interior's Standard; and _Gui- delines <br />for Registration, as well as the Commission's standards and guidelines. This should <br />include the completed nomination text, as approved by the Commission, maps indicating <br />the location of each property being nominated, and S "x10" black and white photographs <br />(2 copies of each print) of all of these sites, as well as 35mm color slides of <br />
