population limits of the city to a different entitlement <br />under the Act; the sequence and validity of annexations of <br />property to each city and the effect of such annexations to <br />the expansion of the extraterritorial jurisdiction of each <br />city; and the proper method of resolution of any resulting <br />overlap under the terms and provisions of the Act and <br />specifically Section 3B thereof. <br />5. Both PARIS and RENO have annexed territory within <br />the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the other without the <br />written consent of the other, creating conflicts under the <br />terms of the Act, which should be resolved. <br />6. The respective City Council and City Commission of <br />PARIS and RENO, acting through their city staffs, have <br />reached agreement as to the apportionment of the conflicts <br />and overlays in their extraterritorial jurisdiction which <br />they desire to reduce to writing, thereby resolving such <br />conflict and providing guidance for the annexations of each <br />party hereto in the future. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that <br />the CITY OF PARIS and the CITY OF RENO, TEXAS, in considera- <br />tion of the premises and the desire of their respective <br />governing bodies to resolve all conflicts in extra- <br />territorial jurisdiction between them do hereby contract and <br />agree as follows: <br />1. There is apportioned to RENO the following overlaps <br />in extraterritorial jurisdiction between the parties: <br />(a) A tract of land commencing at the <br />intersection of the east boundary line <br />of F. M. Highway 1508 and the south <br />boundary line of the Missouri - Pacific <br />Railroad right -of -way and thence east <br />with said south railroad right -of -way <br />line 500 feet to a point; thence south <br />parallel with the east right -of -way line <br />of F. M. Highway 1508 to a point of <br />intersection with the corporate limits <br />of the City of Paris on the north side <br />of Cox Airport; thence west 500 feet to <br />the east boundary line of F. M. Highway <br />1508; thence north with said east <br />right -of -way line of F. M. Highway 1508 <br />to the point of beginning. <br />
