Chairman Dux questioned <br />how the sign was attached and if the circular logo would cover or lean aj"he-F_S-BJQ=,Z�= <br />it would be attached in the mortar. Commissioner Matthews made the motion to approve the <br />signage as presented, seconded by Commissioner Holtman, motion carried <br />Mr. Randy Hider represented the application for Mr. & Mrs. Harper including wooden repair, <br />paint and metal awnings on the building that has two address 140 N. Main and 30 E. Price. East <br />Price will be an apartment and 140 N. Main is retail. There TIMNIN =- <br />w.umifjw L <br />First, replace the current fabric awning coverings with metal on 140 N. Main and install a new <br />metal awning on 30 E. Price. The applicant requested to paint the building an approved historic <br />color. The work that was being requested for review could all be approved in house without <br />coming to the comn-lission. However the applicant was also requesting a $2500 grant to offset the <br />cost of the repairs. Projects that are approved in house cannot be given the grant. Chairman Dux <br />reviewed the adopted Design Standards for the Historic Districts in regards to canopies and <br />awnings with the commission. The applicant submitted photos showing the building originally <br />had a canopy structure with tie rods on the 30 E. Price side. Mr Hider explained the canopy on <br />the Main Street side was removed a few years prior to the purchase and replaced by a fabric <br />awning by his mother, who is the current property owner. Mr Hider expressed the rain was <br />intruding the wood on 30 E Price so it needs some protection. Mr Hider had brought to the <br />attention of the commission that he had seen another adjacent property with a metal awning and <br />just assumed it was appropriate and would be accepted. The commission talked about the use of <br />a metal awning on the 30 E Price Street side because it is a secondary exterior wall to the <br />structure, however since the N. Main Street side was the major storefront and changes c1uld <br />
