MINUTES OF THE PARIS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> December 15, 1999 <br /> <br />The Paris Economic Development Corporation met in a regular meeting on <br />Wednesday, December 15, 1999, at 4:00 P.M., in the City Council Chambers, City <br />Hall, Paris, Texas. Vice-President Jay Guest called the meeting to order with the <br />following boardmembers present: Dick Amis and Donald Wall. Also, present <br />were ex-officio boardmembers Bobby Walters, Chamber Chairman Paul Swasko, <br />and Executive Director Gary Vest. <br /> <br /> Vice-President Jay Guest stated that the next item on the agenda was approval of <br /> the minutes from the previous meeting of the Paris Economic Development <br /> Corporation. He asked if there were any corrections or additions to the minutes <br /> of the previous meeting, and there were none. Boardmember Dick Amis made a <br /> motion, seconded by Boardmember Don Wall, that the minutes be approved as <br /> presented. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Vice-President Jay Guest asked Gene Anderson, Director of Finance, to give the <br /> financial report for the month of November. Mr. Anderson gave the financial <br /> report. Mr. Anderson stated that he would be glad to answer any questions <br /> concerning this report. Boardmember Dick Amis made a motion, seconded by <br /> Boardmember Don Wall, that the financial report be approved as presented. The <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Vice-President Guest asked Gary Vest to give the Director's Report. Mr. Vest <br /> discussed responses received due to the advertising program and he discussed <br /> the call center prospect. He said that he has spoken with this prospect several <br /> times and that they informed him there will be two more projects next year in <br /> which Paris will be considered. He also stated that he had attended a recent <br /> meeting of the Texas Economic Development Sales Tax Association where the <br /> bylaws and a two year budget were adopted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Vest handed out copies of a video brochure proposal and showed a video <br /> compiled by James Wyatt of Venture Video Audio/Productions for the Board's <br /> consideration. Mr. Vest said that Mr. Wyatt used three Paris testimonials in this <br /> video and that he would like for the Board to consider purchasing this video for <br /> use in a four minute tape format. Mr. Vest said that Mr. Wyatt would be willing to <br /> provide this service for $2,100.00, where in most cases this same service would <br /> be provided at $2,100.00 per minute. Mr. Vest also stated that he has considered <br /> putting this information on CD-ROMS, which are very popular because the <br /> information can be mailed to companies considering locations in the Paris area. <br /> Mr. Vest advised that Mr. Wyatt does have graphics capabilities and he would be <br /> able to compile all the needed information. Mr. Vest said that he would like to <br /> enlist Mr. Wyatt to make a video production at a nominal cost of $2,100.00, but if <br /> <br /> <br />
