In stud framed exterior walls, all ties <br />may be anchored to studs as follows: <br />1. When studs are 16 in (407 mm) o.c., stud ties shall be spaced no further <br />apart than 24 in (737 mm) vertically starting approximately 12 in (381 mm) <br />from the foundation; or <br />2.
