<br />City of Paris, Texas <br /> <br />2004-05 Budget <br /> <br />Division 85 <br /> <br />Sewer Maintenance <br /> <br />The Director of Public Works is the administrative officer responsible for this division of the Public Works Department funded <br />out of the Water and Sewer Fund. Employees of this division are responsible for the maintenance and operation of all <br />wastewater collection lines within the ciyt limits, maintaining approximately 188.26 miles of gravity sewer lines, 9.28 miles of <br />pressure sewer lines and 2,000 manholes <br /> <br />Division 86 <br />Wastewater Treatment <br /> <br />The Director of Utilities is the administrative officer responsible for this division of the Utilities Department funded out of the <br />Water and Sewer Fund, Employees of this division operate the wastewater treatrnent plant, the sludge disposal fields, and the <br />master lift station. The Environmental Services personnel ensure compliance with all enfironmental regulations, enforce the <br />sewer use ordinance, and manage the Industrial Pretreatment Program required by the U>S> Environmental Protection <br />Agency and the Texas Natural Rescource Conservation Commission. The Environmental Services Laboratory performs tests <br />on water and wastewater to assist the plant operations, ensure compliance with state and federal permits, and maintain <br />potable water quality. <br /> <br />Division 87 <br />Lift Stations <br /> <br />The Director of Utilities is the administrative officer responsible for this division of the Utilities Department funded out of the <br />Water and Sewer Fund. Employees of this division operate and maintain fifteen sewage lift stations and two bypass retention <br />basins located in different areas of the city. These lift stations pump wastewater to the wastewater treatment plant. tift <br />Station personnel also operate and maintain the Flow Equalization Basins and Pump Station located on Stillhouse Road, and <br />the alarm system connected to all stations, <br /> <br />Page 6 <br />
