MINUTES OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />March 8. 2023 <br />The HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION of the City of Paris met for a regularly <br />scheduled meeting on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the City Council Chambers. <br />Present: <br />Guests: <br />Absent: <br />Board Members: Matt Coyle, <br />Ryan Matthews, <br />Glee Emmite, <br />Laura Caffey, <br />Linda Vandiver, <br />Jessica Holtman, <br />Chris Dux arrived after the meeting began. <br />City Representatives: Cheri Bedford -Historic Preservation Officer <br />Andrew Mack, Director of Planning and Community <br />Development <br />Board Members <br />Call meeting to order. <br />Rob Vine, Assistant City Manager <br />Linda Knox, Council Liaison <br />Judy Malone, Ray Pierce <br />Jennifer Long <br />Matt Coyle, Vice -Chairman called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />2. Citizens' Forum. <br />No one came forth to speak during the Citizens' Forum. <br />3. Approve minutes from the meeting of February 27, 2023 special meeting: <br />The minutes were approved by acclamation <br />4. Discussion and possible action on the COA of First Baptist Church 207 Church Street. <br />The church is proposing only repairs, which would only require a Minor COA, but <br />since they want to apply for a Facade Grant, they are submitting a full COA. Andrew <br />Kerley represented First Baptist Church. Repairs are needed on the front steps, which <br />was initially built with wood structure and they want to use steel structure. The original <br />stone steps will be used. In addition they plan to clean the masonry and repair some <br />of the decorative masonry on the east side the building. Some of the cornice and <br />concrete work has fallen off and is unsafe, <br />
