a <br />Commissioner Dux asked about the three different levels of proposal for the steps. <br />Mr. Kerley stated they will do the full repair which is option 3. Commissioner Dux <br />state that all aspects of the COA appear to be in compliance with the design standards. <br />A motion to approve this COA was made by Commissioner Dux and seconded by, <br />Commissioner Matthews. The motion carried 7 ayes -0 nays. <br />Discussion and possible action on the facade grant application in the amount of $2,500 by <br />First Baptist Church, 207 Church Street. <br />A motion to approve the faqade grant application in the amount of $2,500 was made <br />by Commissioner Holtman, and seconded by Commissioner Dux. The Motion <br />carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />6. Faqade Grant Committee Report. <br />There were 2 meetings of the committee. Present at the first meeting were <br />Commissioner Matthews, Commissioner Long, Councilor Knox, Sherrie White, <br />Maureen Hammond, Rob Vine, Andrew Mack, and Cheri Bedford. The committee <br />looked at what different cities across Texas are doing as well as Goshen, IN. <br />Commissioner Matthews reported that the committee recommended increasing the <br />Commercial Building Fagade Grant up to 50% or $5,000, up to 50% or $2,000 for <br />Residential Faqade Grant and up 50% or $1,000 for signage. The committee also <br />proposed reducing the frequency for which one could apply from two years to one <br />year. THC will prepare renderings for signage. Mr. Mack stated it will be studied to <br />make the signage grant a separate process. He also stated that there is no indication <br />that the city had formally adopted the faced grant program. He recommended it be <br />presented by HPC to the City Council for adoption. <br />7. Coordinator's Report <br />The Tax Credits Specialist, Austin Lukes, from THC visited with downtown property <br />owners. Five downtown property owners are interested in using the tax credits for <br />renovations. About twenty-five current and future property owners attended the <br />meeting on March 7, in which Mr. Lukes made a presentation. There is a Main Street <br />national meeting the end of March, Wine Fest will be in April and tickets are already <br />being sold. Staff has looked at some more traffic calming methods, The May 13 <br />Imagine the Possibilities Tours are in the planning stage. The Historic Presentation <br />Commission has an historical marker that they want to unveil.
