MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSON <br />CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />May 24, 2023 <br />The HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION of the City of Paris met for a special <br />meeting on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the City Council Chambers. <br />Present: Commission Members: Glee Emmite <br />Laura Caffey <br />Linda Vandiver <br />Chris Dux <br />Jennifer Long <br />Absent: Ryan Matthews, <br />Matt Coyle <br />City Representatives: Cheri Bedford, Historic Preservation Officer <br />Andrew Mack, Director of Planning and Community <br />Development <br />Guests: Brad Archer <br />Samuel Pena <br />1. Call meeting to order: <br />Chris Dux, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 4:04 p.m. <br />2. Citizens Forum: No one came forward to speak at the meeting. <br />3. Discussion and possible action on the following applications for the property located at <br />11 South Plaza. <br />A. Certificate of Appropriateness'application for signage at the above property. <br />Commissioner Dux stated the applicant has had feedback from the city regarding the Sign <br />Ordinance and the proposed signage. Commissioner Emmite made a motion to table the <br />COA for signage, seconded by Commissioner Long. Motion carried: 5 -ayes. 0 -nays <br />B. Certificate of Appropriateness application for fagade rehabilitation. <br />Brad Archer came before the Commission representing the building owners. Also coming <br />before the Commission was Samuel Perez representing, ID Studio 4 ID, the architectural <br />firm preparing plans for the potential tenant of the property (Credit Union of Texas or <br />CUTX). Commissioner Dux presented some information on the Design Standards for the <br />City of Paris Historic District, and some information on the THC Preservation Standards. <br />He recommended that Mr. Perez look at the Design Standards.
