This building's longest time period is about 1955, when a mid-century storefront <br />was put on, which was prior to the downtown being a designated historic district This <br />means the present storefront is over 50 years old and has significance of its own. The <br />COA that was submitted details a very modern, clean storefront which is not consistent <br />with either time period. It either needs to be restored to its original 1916 condition or <br />only minimally modified keeping its present 1955 mid-century storefront to make it <br />functional for use today. HPO Bedford contacted the Texas Historic Commission for <br />some recommendations.
