V. Friends of the Library Report: <br />a. June Meeting: <br />Audrey stated that the meeting on June 2111 was held at Celebrate It, which <br />included wine and cheese while the audience listened to author Michelle Major <br />discuss her novels and provide a reading excerpt. <br />b. New membership levels: <br />Audrey said that the club is offering new membership tier levels, with new logos. <br />Corporate members will receive a logo decal and Benefactor members will <br />receive a t -shirt and logo decal. <br />c. Financial Report: <br />Jeannie stated that the club currently has @$16k, with the newest membership <br />dues not included in that amount. There will be another membership drive in the <br />fall. <br />d. Discussion: <br />Connie would like to add a Friends of the Library t -shirt and decal to an area in <br />the library where patrons and prospective members can see and ask about the <br />membership. <br />Audrey agreed and stated that she would like to store the membership materials <br />at the library, as a convenient pick-up location for new members. <br />Myers mentioned that the Friends meeting had a great turnout, and that the <br />author provided more than the expected reading excerpt. Michelle also talked <br />about the industry, which provided an interesting first -person experience for <br />would-be writers and reading enthusiasts. <br />VI. Director's Remarks: <br />Connie wants everyone to know that just because summer is over, that doesn't <br />mean the library programming is over. Connie loves having programming and is <br />working on developing new programming soon. <br />VII. Statistics: <br />a. The library summary included for June 2023: currently there are 11,23 1library <br />cards in use, with 382 reference requests, 389 internet usage requests, 97 <br />requests for computer instructions, and 377 account log -ins. Circulation for 2023 <br />has increased by 4.63% and library visits have seen an increase by 8.87% from <br />2022 to 2023. There are now 13 children's, 12 adult and 18 teen programs so far. <br />b. Current financials for June 2023 show $612,539.15 spent of the $767,205.00 FY <br />2023 budget. <br />Discussion: <br />Melanie noted the increase of funds in the library memorial. Connie responded, <br />saying that she plans on using some of the current $1,552.71 balance to pay for <br />the library Ancestry.com account. Once created, this account will be free for <br />library patrons to use. <br />
