Building and Standards Meeting <br />October 23, 2023 <br />Page 2 <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, demo within 30 days, or city <br />has right to do so. <br />Corey Freeman: In agreement. <br />Motion made by Kim Walker, seconded by Richard Thompson, to follow staff <br />recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 6-0 <br />F. 2221 & 2219 E Polk; City Block 254, Lot PT of 8 <br />Owner: Joyce Freeman, c/o William Freeman, 286 Creekwood Dr., Sunnyvale TX <br />75182 <br />Robert Talley stated this is a duplex. Owner's son (Corey Freeman) is present. Asking <br />for repair orders and rubbish orders. Property is mowed. Main concern is roof <br />beginning to sag and multiple penetrations in the roof. Siding needs replacing in <br />several places. Needs foundation work; leaning to the West. Unsecure; broken <br />windows. Trash, rubbish, metal, appliances, tires, buckets in yard and on porch. Owner <br />has presented photos showing most of back yard has been cleaned up. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, remove junk and rubbish <br />within 30 days, or city has right to do so. Repair within 60 days or will return to BSC. <br />Corey Freeman: 655 S Main in Paris TX - Have a team cleaning up yard. Have <br />repaired fence. Have plans to begin roof repairs and foundation repairs. Permits have <br />not yet been pulled. <br />Motion made by Richard Thompson, seconded by Reeves Hayter, to follow staff <br />recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 6-0 <br />A. 25 W Neagle; Subdivision of Block 170-B, Block B, Lot 18 <br />Owner: Troy & Juanita Gordon, 7529 FM 1498, Paris TX 75462 <br />Robert Talley stated asking for repair and secure orders. Does not meet threshold for <br />demo. Appears to be structurally sound. Beginning to have some foundation issues. <br />Inside has been torn up from people going into house. No contact from owner regarding <br />BSC meeting. Did contact us regarding yard, and have mowed lawn. Has missing <br />wood/siding. Tree lying on the roof. Metal roof; did not see any penetration. Ceiling <br />is buckled inside, but no sign of water damage. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, repair within 60 days, or back <br />to BSC. Secure within 14 days, or city has the right to do so. <br />Motion made by Mike Folmar, seconded by Richard Thompson, to follow staff <br />recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 6-0 <br />
