Building and Standards Meeting <br />October 23, 2023 <br />Page 3 <br />B. 12 W Neagle; Subdivision of Block 170-B, Block A, Lot 19 <br />Owner: Joel & Teri Bowers, 925 28th St SE, Paris TX 75460 <br />Robert Talley stated only a small shed on the property. Leaning severely to one side. <br />No contact with property owner. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, demo of shed within 30 days, <br />or city has right to do so. <br />Motion made by Richard Thompson, seconded by Reeves Hayter, to follow staff <br />recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 6-0 <br />D. 1523 11t" St NE; East Park Block D, Lot 10 <br />Owner: Homer Mason, Jr., c/o Misty Mason, 1819 Gravley Dr., Carrollton TX 75006 <br />Robert Talley stated Jacie Sparks, Community Development Secretary, spoke with <br />owner's daughter, Misty Mason. Called to say she doesn't live here; last time she <br />saw house, it was in bad condition. Wants nothing to do with the house; agrees it <br />needs to be demoed. Junk and rubbish in back. Tree growing into side of house. <br />Main problem is a section of house so rotted out it has caused the floor to collapse. <br />This has caused water collection inside the house. Pier and beam house, but house is <br />on the ground. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, demo within 30 days, or city <br />has right to do so. <br />Motion made by Kim Walker, seconded by Mike Folmar, to follow staff <br />recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 6-0 <br />G. 737 Cedar; Gibbons Park Block 3, W V222 & 22A <br />Owner: Ruth Bosarge Stephens, 1031 Old Bynum Rd A, Hillsboro TX 76645 <br />Robert Talley stated structure remaining on property appears to have been an add-on <br />to main house. Owners demoed main part of house, but left this section. No contact <br />with owner. Completely falling in on itself. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, demo within 30 days, or city <br />has right to do so. <br />Motion made by Reeves Hayter, seconded by Richard Thompson, to follow staff <br />recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 6-0 <br />4. Discuss West Side Town Hall meetings. <br />
