scheduled date for the January meeting, so the board agreed that the January <br />meeting would be moved to the second Wednesday, January 10th, 2024 so that <br />everyone could meet. <br />c. Computer Lab Upgrade <br />The library Computer Lab underwent an upgrade, which Connie noted that all of <br />the visitors are happy with. The computers are all uniform, have 24" screens, and <br />are much faster than the previous models. The city IT department will maintain <br />the updates that are anticipated to occur every few years and monitor the user <br />activity. Connie is very thankful to the City, for allocating funds toward the <br />Computer Lab improvement. Next, she would like a television placed on the wall, <br />showcasing the different databases that the library subscribes to. <br />V. Friends of the Library Report <br />a. Wish List: Connie met with the Friends and provided a Wish List for the library. <br />She would like a streaming service, to re -do the carpeting and concrete in the <br />gallery, and improve the lighting and security outside. The Friends are working <br />with Art Stutsman and Light Up Paris to place lights in the tree out front. Audrey <br />said that the city will need to remove four limbs from the tree, but Connie said <br />that service would be included in the lawn service maintenance contract the <br />library already has. The concrete staining would be a 3 -day project and the library <br />would need to time a closing so that the smell would dissipate. It is possible that <br />some dates in December may work for this project. Audrey noted that $100 is <br />being donated to help beautify the outside area of the library. Connie noted that <br />the lawneare service includes plants. <br />b. Story Book Walk: Jeannie Walters stated that the projected location for the Story <br />Book Walk will is at Bywaters Park this year. The board discussed posting <br />signage for the storybooks and if approved, it would be possible to place them in <br />locations around the city. <br />c. Braille Program: Audrey informed the board regarding the Texas State Library <br />Braille program, in which the library can receive fimding to post walkalong book <br />signs, with braille on them. Jeannie wasn't certain if there would be copyright <br />issues. Connie stated that as long as there isn't any altering of the information, it <br />would be permissible. <br />d. Little Free Library: Audrey stated that people are not pleased with the placement <br />and that it takes away from the building. Connie stated that the United Way made <br />the structures and she does want them. However, she is open to moving them. <br />e. Friends Meeting: The next meeting of the Friends of the Library will be on <br />1110212023, beginning at noon, at the Paris Golf and Country Club, Audrey <br />
