Building and Standards Meeting <br />March 18, 2024 <br />Page 2 <br />Robert Talley stated the property owner would like to repair the structure. The <br />backside of the structure has collapsed. The roof needs repair. Missing and <br />deteriorated wood around the structure and foundation issues. Junk and rubbish on <br />the property. The owner, Mrs. Mackowicki stated that she has been cleaning the <br />property and is waiting on an estimate from a contractor to get the repairs of the <br />structure started. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, repair within 90 days or this <br />will be brought back to the commission. Removal of junk and rubbish within 90 days <br />or this will be brought back to the commission. Removal of limbs and brush within 90 <br />days or this will be brought back to the commission. <br />Motion made by Richard Thompson, seconded by Kim Walker, to follow staff <br />recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 5-0 <br />H. 2636 E Cherry; City Block 257-C, Lot 3 <br />Owner: Annie O Jones; 2636 E Cherry, Paris, TX 75460 <br />Robert Talley stated that the property has tarps on the roof as well as missing and <br />deteriorated wood. There was junk and rubbish that was previously on the property <br />that the city had cleaned up. Heir to the property Mr. Frank Jones stated he will be <br />getting the roof fixed and he is waiting on an estimate from a contractor. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, repair within 90 days and <br />removal of junk and rubbish within 90 days or it will come back before the commission. <br />Motion made by Brandon Kearney, seconded by Richard Thompson, to follow staff <br />recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 5-0 <br />K. 743 SE 8th; Gibbons 1St Addition, Block 6, Lot PT LT 1 ALL 2 <br />Owner: William R Freeman; 286 Creekwood Dr., Sunnyvale, TX 75182 <br />Robert Talley stated structure has holes in floor, missing/deteriorated wood, roof <br />and foundation damage. Mr. Freeman's son, Corey, spoke on his behalf of his father <br />regarding their plans to repair these issues. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, demo within 30 days, or city <br />has right to do so. <br />Motion made by Kim Walker, seconded by Richard Thompson, to follow staff <br />recommendation.
