Friends Report <br />a. Spring Newsletter has been launched, information about previous and current <br />projects included. <br />b. Friends providing staff appreciation lunch on Eclipse day <br />C. Friends business Meeting May 2nd at Paris Golf & Country Club 12:00 lunch <br />d. Looking for a Christmas book for the Book Walk in December, will consult with <br />Traci about doing a summer book <br />e. 30-40 current Friends have joined for 2024 year <br />f. Friends provided a check for bicycles for prizes for the summer Reading Raffle. <br />All ages will be included this year, Connie plans to have the bikes displayed in Library <br />to encourage participation. <br />VI. Directors Remarks <br />a. Library software, Polaris expires in August, staff will train with plenty of time to move <br />to the new software, Atriuum - this software will go live in May. <br />b. The oak tree stump is decaying, Connie will work with the City to remove, and <br />continue to work with Jennifer Hollje's contact tree expert. HTeaO, Connie and DeEtte <br />Cobb all have pieces of the wood for upcoming projects and mementos. <br />c. Statistics report circulation is down, but programing numbers are up. Sizeable memorials <br />have recently been received as well. <br />d. Freading subscription has been suspended, circulation was poor. Libby has proven <br />to be a successful on-line platform for e -books. <br />e. City of Paris, IT, Water department are all moving to cloud based systems. Connie <br />is currently unable to access her budget. 5 months is left in the budget year, she will <br />begin to prepare her new budget soon. This will include a new line item "Roof" to help <br />justify the need for a new roof. <br />f. Children's room updates coming in the new budget. Paint, furniture, shelving to be added. <br />possibility of taking down the magazine wall to expand this space. <br />g. Continued funds to be put into the YA collection. <br />
