$150.00 is not a sufficient amount of stipend, which the committee will consider for <br />next year. The VIP experience was a raving success. So much, that a larger venue <br />is being considered for next year. <br />e. Farmers Market - The market is up and running, with 60 registered vendors. A <br />vendor application can be found online. New this year: a child's entrepreneur spot <br />has been made available, to encourage the next generation to participate. <br />Upcoming events include, Hatch Chile Fest the end ofAugust, Salsa on the Square <br />on Sept 21st and the Annual Pumpkin Festival, Oct 28, 2024. Another possible event <br />is Gospel Night on the Square. <br />f. Historic Preservation - Seth Johnson reported that there was no update. <br />4. Coordinators Report: <br />Paris Coffee downtown is doing great. Corner Cafe should open.for business <br />sometime the end of June. There have been reports and concerns about <br />downtown vandalism, which seems to be a growing state -side concern. Police <br />Chief is encouraging citizens to call the police department and report any <br />vandalism or destruction. Bedford recently spoke at a Main Street training, in San <br />Angelo, on the topic of Vacant Property ordinance. Fines starting at $500 and <br />increasing after one year, will be collected and given to downtown development. <br />Waivers are available. The 1st Street program (our venue block) is in motion, as <br />reported by Todd Metkey. A Brick Paver Program is being considered to help fund <br />the 1st street program. BIG ANNOUNCEMENT- We are officially a nationally <br />accredited Main Street Program. <br />5. Future agenda items: <br />No future agenda items discussed.
